Above Weir Lake

Fall is my favorite time of the year in the Eastern Sierras, and I am up and down U.S. 395 is search of scenes that are begging to be photographed.

Weir Lake (really a pond) on the South Fork of Bishop Creek is one of those places. Most of us have photographed it one way or another, but I wanted something different. So I found this shot above it on the south end. Being that it was morning before the sun hit the scene helps to bring out the complexity and subtleties of the view.
