Bishop Creek

Though I took this photo in the early 2000s the last time I looked the tree trunk or its remnants are still there. This is just up the road from Parcher's Resort on the South Fork of Bishop Creek. The log is actually visible from the road, but lets keep that as one of our secrets. For all the casual observer may know I had to hike miles and miles to get to this spot.  The undisturbed wood chips on the log are a fascinating feature in that in all this surrounding turbulence those chips are not affected.

Since most of my photos with a view camera take some time to set up I was subjected to the strong, but soothing, sound of the running creek for a while. When I packed up and returned to my car I must say I was more relaxed, and I actually missed that constant sound.
